Jonathan Blake is vice president of Freedom Foundation of Minnesota. In his current role at FFM, Jonathan serves a policy analyst, researcher, and communications advisor. He also runs the Freedom Foundation’s internship program. Prior to joining the Freedom Foundation in June 2008, Mr. Blake was a public policy and communications consultant to numerous local and state government clients, primarily focusing on transportation policy and finance and intergovernmental coordination. Formerly, he served as a Research Fellow at a Twin Cities-based think tank, where he authored an extensive task force report on legislative reform in Minnesota, which garnered significant statewide media coverage.
Between 2001 and 2005, Jonathan served in a variety of staff roles at the Republican Party of Minnesota, most recently as Finance Director. In that position, he was responsible for overseeing the State Party's largest department, with an annual fundraising budget in excess of $3 million and a staff of several fundraising specialists as well as more than thirty small-dollar fundraisers. Mr. Blake also served as Deputy Political Director and 72-Hour Task Force Coordinator, a role in which he developed and implemented a successful statewide grassroots plan for the 2002 elections, in which the Republican Party of Minnesota experienced a number of historic victories.
